Edible playdough

My kids like to play with homemade playdough. Every weekend they play in the kitchen while I’m preparing something tasty. But one time when I saw my kids sitting and smiling with green mouths, I understood that something was wrong :) So I made decision – prepare edible playdough. The recipes was selected long time ago, but time to prepare it came only now. It’s very easy to make and tasty to eat – if you like peanuts and sweetness. But don’t do my mistake, don’t prepare full amount, devide in half or even more. We ate a lot, but it still is on my pantry. Now it hardened, but we break some chunks and eat like candies. After a great play you can make small balls and dip in the melted chocolate – and you will have great candies.

1 cup peanut butter

1/2 cup honey

2 cups powdered sugar

Mix ingredients in a bowl. I suggest pour sugar powder by steps, not all at once. My honey was hard. Maybe that’s why when I poured all sugar powder my playdough was rather hard to roll. Store good rapped in plastic food film.

In next recipe I saw that some sugar is changed with non-fat milk powder. Next time I will try it :)

Pasta with tomato cream sauce

I know this photo is not good, but the taste of pasta with this sauce is perfect. It’s mild, it’s creamy and it’s super easy and super quick. Try after a long hard working day!

400 g pasta, any kind

1 tbsp. olive oil

1 small or 1/2 big onion

1 clove garlic, minced

1 tsp. dried basil

1 can chopped tomatoes in it’s juice

3/4-1 cup heavy cream

salt

Cook pasta according to directions on box. Drain well. Meanwhile, heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add onion and cook, stirring frequently, for 1-2 minutes, or until onion just begins to soften. Add garlic and basil to a pan. Continue cooking 30 seconds, stirring frequently. Pour blendered tomatoes into pan, stirring well to combine ingredients. When tomato sauce is heated through, approximately 2 minutes, stir in cream. Continue cooking 2 minutes. Add cooked pasta to pan with sauce and stir to coat. Serve immediately.

Oatmeal coconut cookies

Magic cookies – they always disappear the first day you bake them. I know that Forelle has cookies alike, just even better – with nuts. But now I’m ok without nuts :) I eat them, just because of my new allergy I’m looking at all ingredients carefully. You should really try them :) And today after a hard day and looking forward more hard working week I understand that life is still beautiful :) Maybe it’s because of yesterday read quote “Everything will be ok. If things are not OK, than it’s not the end.”

1 cup all purpose flour

1/2 tsp. baking powder

1/8 tsp. salt

1 cup shredded coconut

1 cup quick cooking oats

1/2 cup butter

1/2 cup sugar

Preheat the oven to 180°C. Line baking trays with baking sheet.
In a large bowl sift together the flour, baking powder and salt. Stir in the coconut and oats. Melt butter with the sugar in a small saucepan over medium heat. Remove it from the stove and let it cool for 2 minutes. Pour the melted butter mixture to the dry ingredients and mix well with a spatula. Roll into balls the size of walnuts and place 2-3 cm apart on the baking sheet and flatten it slightly with a fork. Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown. Let cookies cool on the sheets until they firm slightly. Then using a spatula carefully lift the cookies and transfer them to a cooling rack to cool completely.
